Prologue

As AirshipX continues to make big news in the blockchain industry, every day more people are taking notice of the core component of our future decentralized web: the AirshipX node. Not only are we opening up the entrance to web 3.0 by empowering users through the product, but we're creating a massive decentralized system that gives some of our users more power by turning them into node operators.

Whether you have purchased a node license or are considering one, one of the most important things to remember is that you are not an investor in AirshipX. Node licensing is a product sold by AirshipX, and while it has the ability to earn ASC tokens and run the decentralized network, no profit or return should be expected. Node operators must be part of our ecosystem because they believe in our mission and our vision to empower the world through social. AirshipX nodes are not investments. This has been clarified very clearly in our terms and conditions:

"Ownership of AirshipX applications or nodes or use of AirshipX services does not represent or constitute any title or equity, shares or securities, debt or equivalent, or any right to receive future income or form of participation in or in connection with any blockchain or digital rewards, including AirshipX Blockchain or AirshipX Reward.” (Source: Terms and Conditions)

Having said that, let’s move on to the rest of this article.

Unfortunately, in the world of cryptocurrencies, there are some bad habits that prevail among the vast number of newcomers who find their way into the world every day. One of these bad habits (perhaps the worst) is a lack of research. Many people believe that the speed at which they spend their money is more important than knowing what they are spending their money on. In this area (full of scams and tricks), it is especially important to thoroughly research any project you wish to support or coin you are considering buying.

How much research is enough? simple. Once you fully understand something, you've done enough research, but only until tomorrow. As companies in the blockchain and crypto space develop and innovate at an incredible speed, there are always things to learn. This means that the important act of doing your own research never really ends.

Another bad habit that must be avoided is expectations. When they see that some of the lucky people in the cryptocurrency space became unreasonably rich very quickly, many decided they could expect the same result for themselves by taking a similar path. What is worse, some of these people are already used to being entitled to piles of wealth or exorbitant returns, and even feel frustrated and resentful about projects they see as unfulfilled. These expectations have no place in responsible decision-making when it comes to your hard-earned money, and they could prove harmful if allowed to influence your spending choices.
